Earlier this week, Philadelphia pro-life activist, Mark Houck, was acquitted of charges that he violated the federal Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.
During the trial, U.S. District Court Judge Gerald Pappert, formerly the PA Attorney General, and an Obama appointee to the bench, asked whether the federal law didn’t “seem to be stretched a little thin here?”
Recall that a state level case involving this incident was dismissed by the judge when the alleged victim failed to appear at any court hearings.
It was then that the Merrick Garland-led Department of Justice pounced, unleashing more than a dozen FBI agents to arrest this peaceful, pro-life protestor.
While this case was being tried, 45 documented incidents of violence against pregnancy clinics occurred, without a single suspect identified by name or taken into custody. These violent attacks appear to be loosely coordinated with several incidents exhibiting similar language spray-painted across the clinics’ walls.
This apparent double standard in the enforcement of the law is more evidence of a political bias in priorities at the Biden administration’s DOJ.
